In Barcelona, Queralt, a painter, tries to talk by phone with her daughter Gemma, also a painter, who lives and works in a small studio in Athens.

On a cold winter afternoon, António and Jota return from the front with their friends, looking for an ancient Roman thermal bath. They joke with each other while wading through swamps, recounting past tactical glories. The baths have appeared after a long time spent under the water of a reservoir, and people of all ages curious about the discovery come to spend the day. But there is something mysterious about these thermal waters - as if the baths influence the mood of the men, giving them the courage to say things they have never told anyone. As day turns to night, they confess their feelings and their fears of losing their best friend forever.

Coastal town of Benidorm, Spain, August 1956. Sylvia, a newly married US poet, goes for a walk.

The girl talks to the boy about her fear of suicide and then laughs. She tells him she loves him. The girl and the boy run as if the only way out was to get lost in the night -among trees, cobble stones, karaokes- and never go back home.

Her grandchildren witness this rite of death which they will never forget. The streets echo with an ancestral legend which has it that the spirit of a woman with a broken heart prowls at night, so that she will not be forgotten.

Lucas, Jorge and Rafa are three inseparable, life-long friends, spending the weekeng in the countryside. After a long night of drinking, when the new day comes, they pick up four greyhounds and set out to hunt.

A young musician returns home after a concert tour through different European cities. While he gets back to his everyday life, the last audio message he received from his girlfriend echoes in his head.
