The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, conducted by Omer Meir Wellber, takes over Neuschwanstein Castle in southern Germany for a lyrical concert featuring soprano Golda Schultz, tenor Rolando Villazón, and baritone Ludovic Tézier. London crime reporter Barney Blair has an appointment in his office with Janosch Kovac, the hotel detective at the Hotel Atlanta in San Remo. The informant wants to sell Blair some explosive background material, but it doesn't get that far because the man is stabbed to death beforehand. Blair goes to the hotel, where the film and music festival is currently taking place, to investigate the case himself and soon senses a big story.

Paris 1900. Sharing a house in the Bohemian District are Roberto, a fledgling Musician, who is composing an Opera with his friend the poet Victor Duval; and the beautiful Cossette, daughter of a retired tenor, who goes up and down the stairs, taking advantage of Roberto's music to train her voice. The young bohemian musician does not know Cosette, but hears her sing daily. Instead, she's in love with Roberto and follows his steps as a composer.
