Fyodor Gladkov

About the great Czech satirist Jaroslav Hašek, who was captured by the Russians during the First World War. Not wanting to fight for the interests of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Hašek enters the Red Army and, as a commissar of the international brigade, goes the military way from Samara to Irkutsk.

The Homeland of Electricity, Larisa Shepitko's adaptation of an Andrei Platonov story, was one of three short films collected in an omnibus work (Beginning of an Unknown Era) commissioned to honor the 50th Anniversary of the October Revolution. Censors eventually shelved the film and it would not see the light of day until well after Shepitko's death, during Mikhail Gorbachev's perestroika.

During WWII, the film's protagonist, Maxim, retreats with his troops and leaves a red house in one of Ukraine's villages. Years later, Maxim, now no longer a soldier but an agronomist, returns and settles in the same house. He falls in love with a girl named Dusya, whom he recognizes as the girl who brought milk during the war.

The fishery supervision employee is killed. During the investigation the public law enforcement official has looked out on the trace of the illegal grouping which has serious reasons for the commission of more considerable crimes than the illegal animals killings.
