What is like to be a widowed old man in a small town where every single day is the same like the previous? And what will happen when the grandson that man haven't seen in 10 years will knock on his door and suddenly brake all of his routines?

Brother for a Day is a film about our city, our streets and our neighborhoods—a story that could happen anywhere. It tells the story of a thoroughly modern family of three members. In their struggle for money, the parents fail to devote much time or attention to their five-year-old daughter, Anja. They do not have the time or patience to explain things to her and they give her what she wants just to ‘buy some peace’. “Brother for a Day” at first glance appears to be a story of different nationalities; in fact, it refers to the divide between the child’s world and the world of adults.

After an attempt of a suicide of a 11 year old bullied kid, Stela "a shepherd dog" is the only one that can get through him and restore his faith in life.

Alek is a 10 year old autistic child. During a family day at the park, Alek disappears. He follows a very tall man that only he can see. Alek walks towards a lake like hypnotised. We hear his parents calling his name while he is only a step away from the water.

A story about love, war, the Holocaust, but also a legacy - Let it not be forgotten, and as Roza says: "And I only hope that one day, when people will pass by that house in Bitola where Beno and I met, and where Estreja and Jamila and Adela and all of us made plans for our future, one day, people will know about some very brave young people from Macedonia and what we did for our city and for our people."

The twenty-minute documentary was filmed in the Macedonian monasteries “St. John the Baptist”, known as the Bigorski Monastery and in the women’s monastery “St. George the Victorious” in Rajčica, near Debar. The term “metoch” means property owned by a monastery, and the monastery in Rajčica, where most of the film was filmed, is a metoch of the Bigorski Monastery. The film shows part of the everyday life of the Macedonian monastic community and the motives that inspired some of its members to make the decision to become monks. “Metoch” talks about joy, simplicity and love for God.
