But Aida has no intention of attracting the young teenager, and Arban’s love leads to fierce jealousy of anyone close to Aida, as well as against his own father, Luan. Luan’s business is going well, but to increase the number of his customers Luan secretly goes out every night to throw nails on the streets. Arban discovers this by accident and suspects his father is going to see the beautiful Aida. One day his father falls into his own trap and has an accident. He spends six months in hospital, and after this Luan decides to follow the right path...

Hari Dzekson is the first and only filmmaker of Western Films in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. In the 1980s, many people in Yugoslavia didn't know where the town of Bjelina was, but they knew who Hari Dzekson was. Hari Dzekson was a rebel against bureaucracy and injustice. He aimed to "repair" the world through his films.

The film features three couples from different faiths and nationalities. But what stands out as unique is the conveying of the idea that in this globalized world, no one should or should feel special or superior to another.

For this reason, every fact and opinion presented in the movie MANAKI – A STORY IN PICTURES has been carefully researched and confirmed with presented artifacts. The story is told through original documentary photographs following their work from the opening of the first professional studio in 1898 in Ioannina and later moving to Bitola, now known as the town of the Manaki brothers.
