Manuel Horrillo

Torremolinos, province of Málaga, Spain, autumn 1981. In the basement of a pub frequented by foreigners, five young self-taught people found a musical group that in less than a year conquers the charts: Danza Invisible, one of the best bands in the history of Spanish pop music, was born.

Manuel Horrillo has visited for 7 years the fields where the clashes between the Spanish troops and the rebels of the protectorate took place during the so-called Rif War, a forgotten war of the Spanish collective imaginary.

Casablanca evokes romance, freedom fighters and magic. Under the myth built by Hollywood lies a town full of stories, such as that of the Spanish community that played a key role to turn Casablanca in the French colonial pearl in Africa.
