A New Year's Eve television variety show from late 1979.

A romantic fairy tale about faithful love and how difficult it is to fulfill it. "I have never seen two sisters who love each other so much," sighs King Stephen when he discovers his one true love, the orphaned knight's daughter Anička, in an old fortress in the woods where he wanders while hunting. And indeed, Katka stands faithfully by her stepsister's side, even though fate, thanks to her stepmother's curse, prepares the most difficult trials that a young, beautiful girl can encounter. And so, in the final song, the fairy queen can sing not only to the lovers from the fairy tale, but also to all of us: "Every love overcomes evil, every love interprets God, the flower that stands alone withers, so I have love for you..."

Postwoman Mrs Skorepa, her husband the ambulance driver Mr Skorepa and their eleven-year-old twins Petr and Pavel live in Prague in Malá Strana (Lesser Town), one of the Prague's historical and oldest quarters. The boys are crazy about cars and everything linked to them. They don't share their father's love of classical music. On the other hand, they are crazy about the newly announced scrap yard competition for paper collection. The lottery tickets awarded for every ten kilograms of old paper collected could win them a go-kart.

Petr, a printing apprentice, goes to a cottage with his classmate Hanka to learn more about technology. However, Hanka has other ideas about how to spend their time at the cottage. Petr breaks up with Hanka and on his way back from the cottage he meets a young woman who offers him a ride to Prague. Jana has just run away from her cottage to escape her husband and his friends. A pure relationship develops between this couple, despite their age and social differences. In his naivety, Petr wants to introduce Jana to his parents as his bride. His performances are interspersed with films called La Fontaine's fables. The organization runs smoothly, even though each performer's act has its own charm of awkwardness.
