Caroline Duffy is a successful cartoonist in Manhattan whose eclectic friends are sometimes the subjects of her comic strip.

A police comedy show about eccentric police officers. Veteran police detective Bob Ballard is reassigned to Pacific Station in Venice, California. The station is habitually used as an exile place for the police force's most eccentric or outright incompetent officers. They primarily have to deal with rather weird suspects from Venice Beach. Bob also has to deal with his new superior officer, the recently promoted Captain Ken Epstein. Ken is a rather immature young man who has been asked to lead officers than are older than himself.

Since the death of her husband 10 years ago, Evelyn has been working hard for her company, but had no private life. Now her doctor shocks her with the news that she may live only another 6 months. Spontanely she follows a TV ad and sets out for vacation in Mexico. There she meets widower Lloyd and they fall in love, go bungee jumping... until she gets another diagnosis from her doctor.

In the future, mental institutions are located on far-away planets. One such planet is the apex for an invasion of Earth by rodent-like aliens. It is up to a band of intrepid mental patients to thwart their evil schemes.
