With her the husband and her mother Katya lives in a small provincial town and works at the local factory. The mother suddenly falls ill and decides to transfer her property to her son, Katya’s brother. Katya feels this decision to be unjust, and begins to fight for her inheritance. In pursuit of imaginary material well-being Katya decides on a most desperate act.

Mashka and her two brothers are living in a small village located far from the big cities. Children are forced to survive: their mother died and their constantly drinking father doesn’t need them. Life goes on as usual, but the fate prepared yet another ordeal for the family.

Some episodes from their real lives are funny, some are scary, but all of them are exciting to witness.

1960. There's an outbreak of smallpox in Moscow. This incurable deadly disease was considered conquered in the USSR. To fight the possible epidemic the KGB assigns colonel Shilov. He dives into the struggle at once because he has an old account to settle with smallpox. The task is to locate all those infected and stop the spread of the virus. But it is not an easy mission. The infection has spread to the underworld of the capital. Shilov must look for answers in the depths of the criminal world, unearthing its inhabitants and secrets.
