"The Door to Darkness" is an anthology miniseries of four hour-long thrillers. The series' curator and producer is Dario Argento, the undisputed master of suspense cinema, who directs one of the four films under the pseudonym Sirio Bernadotte.

It's May 1943, and two Italian American soldiers, Joe and Frank, are searching the North African desert for a Nazi general called Von Kassler. Von Kassler's aide captures them, and arranges for them to escape with fake war plans. But, things don't go exactly as planned for either side.

An Italian blue-collar worker finds a job on a Norwegian oil platform, hoping to earn the money he needs to open a bar in his country.
