1991. Harrison Lloyd, a renowned photojournalist covering the war in Yugoslavia, is reported missing. Sarah, his wife, convinced that he is not dead, decides to go to Bosnia to find him.

The story of the film is set in the period from the 1940s until today in the Pannonian plain (the plain in the Central Europe), in an area of elusive boundaries, mysterious and unstable spiritual identity. The witness of the time is a Jewish boy Benya Cohn who, with his eye wide open, remembers the tragedy of his family, in the shadow of the Holocaust, concentration camps and new wars.

For Kiki, who works the night shift of a young bus driver, none of this is a secret. Every shift, he turns the steering wheel and every shift becomes a witness to the dark side of life. And the only opportunity for a guy to escape from grim reality is the world of his erotic dreams filled with searing passions. In them, he can reincarnate in anyone, from a policeman or a fashionable doctor to a millionaire playboy.
