Biography

Jurgen Ureña is a graduate of the Film and TV School of Veritas University (Costa Rica) and has a Master's Degree in Creative Documentary from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His short films have been screened at the Cannes, Washington, Hamburg and Cartagena film festivals, among others. His first feature film, Muñecas rusas (2014), received the Best Director Award at the Ícaro Central American Film Festival. Two years later, his second film, Abrazame como antes (2016), received the same recognition, along with the Best Central American Feature Film Award from the Costa Rica International Film Festival, among other awards.
