Biography
Ashwin Gangaraju is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his evocative storytelling and visual flair in Telugu cinema. He made his directorial debut with Aakashavaani (2021), a critically acclaimed forest drama set in an unnamed time and remote region of Andhra Pradesh, celebrated for its original narrative with emotional resonance and immersive world-building. Originally from Railway Koduru, a town near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Ashwin is now based in Hyderabad, Telangana. A graduate of Ramanaidu Film School, he began his film journey with visionary director S. S. Rajamouli-contributing to the writing of Eega (2012) and serving as Associate Director on Eega and the magnum opus Baahubali duo-logy. Ashwin is developing his second directorial venture-an ambitious period epic starring Rishab Shetty, produced by Sithara Entertainments. The film is in preproduction and promises to be a landmark entry in modern Indian historical cinema.
