A tight group of friends, fired with unquenchable energy and enthusiasm, has come together to help two friends shoot a music video in time to get to a big competition in East Helsinki. Minor setbacks are not going to faze them, but then come some major problems, threatening not only their jobs but their loyalty to each other.

Guled and Nasra are a loving couple, living in the outskirts of Djibouti city with their teenage son, Mahad. However, they are facing difficult times: Nasra urgently needs an expensive surgery to treat a chronic kidney disease. Guled is already working hard as a gravedigger to make ends meet.

When men take up arms to go against their brothers, women have to take up gravediggers’ shovels. Ceebla (Fardouza Moussa Egueh, who we also saw in Gravedigger’s Wife), refuses to bargain for the cost of her labour. When her grave finally finds a taker, the revenue logic takes an unexpected twist. The Earth Has Ears is a civil war film without gunfire. It shows how the absurdity of war also turns everyday life at the home front irrational. / MSFF

In a Somali village, Barni, a mysterious hitwoman in her fifties, dramatically resurfaces years after vanishing without a trace. There, she's intent on getting revenge on vicious gangster Ardo, who rules the village with an iron fist.

Asad, a 16-year-old Black boy, whose first language is Finnish sign language, is on his way home on a rainy night when his bicycle breaks down in the middle of a quiet highway.

The Night Thief is a warmhearted drama set in the suburbs of Helsinki, Finland. It tells the story of a Somali man, Farah, whose car starts to disappear mysteriously at night. Although the car always shows up in the morning, Farah starts to run late from work, and fears that he could lose his job. Farah’s wife is moving to Finland from Somalia and if Farah were to get fired, his wife’s residency permit would be in danger. Due to the circumstances, Farah decides to do whatever it takes to catch the thief. In the end, things take an unexpected turn when Farah finally faces the person who has been stealing his car.
