Set in 1944. A shepherd boy enters an abandoned palace he has seen only from the distance since he was a boy. Once he enters the palace, strange things begin to happen as though he was dreaming the events rather than living them.

In the villa of the party dignitary, the fates of Stanisław, his son's friends, Zbyszek, a worker leaving the army, and the head of the thieves' gang, cross. The film was shelved by the censors for 27 years before finally getting a limited release in 2009.

The film is an experimental documentary form, made using the stop-motion method. It is a single shot in total plan, showing an aerial view of the Balucki Market in Lodz. Stomil is a short advertising film of Łódzkie Zakłady Przemysłu Gumowego, the main manufacturer of Wellington boots and other rubber products in the Polish People's Republic. The first dozen or so seconds of the etude are actually an abstract film. Thick liquids of various colors spread on a smooth surface. Over time, the frame is increasingly filled with regular geometric patterns, short shots of machine details, first close-up shots of fragments of shoes, and after a while shots of Wellington boots in full view on a single-color background. At the end of the film, still photographs showing women's legs in Wellington boots are also incorporated into its structure. Finally, we see models wearing autumn coats and colorful Stomil Wellington boots. The closing sequence of the film consists of a pulsating company logo interspersed with shots of legs in Wellington boots. Their image was multiplied by dividing the screen into small squares.
