After a mixup at the check-in, Aimo Niemi boards a charter plane bound for the sunny island of Rhodes, Greece, instead of the Innsbruck Winter Olympics he's packed for. It's the early days of package tourism, and he is too shy and clueless to really sort out any of his problems — a suitcase filled with women's clothes, a flirtatious female roommate, and no money to buy food since he was prepared for full room & board in Austria.

A newly graduated nurse Tuulikki starts a job in a closed ward of a psychiatric hospital. Her innocence is being challenged by both her colleagues and patients. A new patient Katariina has a fire burning deep inside of her.

Minister Korkolainen happens to bump into his ex-girlfriend from years ago. They end up spending the night together, discussing the past and politics.

The film is based on characters from the Mänttien TV-asema sketches featured on the Spede Show.

An afternoon newspaper reporter's tape recorder picks up sensitive information while he is working on a story about so-called yuppie culture. The picture shows the symbols of yuppie life, from muscle boats and convertibles to Mobira Cityman 900 mobile phones. However, a murder within the inner circle brings the superficial world of money and sex to a halt.

A heavily indebted construction entrepreneur robs a bank in Jakomäki, Helsinki. He takes two officers and one customer hostage from the bank. In addition to himself, the desperate robber threatens to blow up the hostages if the police who left to follow them try to prevent the escape.
