In the Medina of Casablanca, Thami, a young man from a conservative family with a lineage of honourable Koranic lawyers, incenses his father as he decides to enter the profession of butchery. Whilst handling the meats, he soon discovers another taboo passion: women and love. “Love in the Medina” is about a journey of initiation, a quest for freedom and Thami’s revolution of romance in ever-changing Morocco.

As Eid al-Adha approaches, a struggling father desperately tries to find a way to buy a sacrificial sheep for his family. With the help of his friend, he turns to a series of schemes and desperate attempts to raise the money, leading the two friends into increasingly complicated and absurd situations. As the pressure mounts, their struggle exposes the realities of poverty, social expectations, friendship, and a father's determination to preserve his dignity and make Eid special for his son.
