Biography
Chan Chung-Kin (陳中堅) was a Hong Kong actor and director born in Dongguan, China. In 1947, he acted and worked as an assistant director on The Aged Lovers (白頭情侶), co-directed by his father, Cantonese opera and film director Chan Tin-Chung (陳天縱). In 1954, he teamed up with Tam Pak-Yip (譚伯葉) to co-direct Eighteen Marriages of a Smart Girl (好女十八嫁 ), followed by Chen Shimei, the Unfaithful Husband and Qin Xianglian (陳世美與秦香蓮). In 1956, he directed his first solo film, I'm in Love with an Unfaithful Man (莪愛薄情郎). After the decline of the Hong Kong film industry, he moved to television. His sister Chen Xiaocha (陳小茶) and older brother Chen Xiaofeng (陳笑風) are both famous Cantonese opera singers.
Known For

Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. Tragedy, romance, conflicts, and intrigues were featured. The series was immediately followed by a sequels titled "New Police Cadet '85" and "New Police Cadet '88". Both sequels stars Tony Leung.

The File Of Justice

A Step into the Past is a 2001 Hong Kong television series produced by TVB and based on Huang Yi's novel of the same Chinese title. The series tells the story of a 21st-century Hong Kong VIPPU officer who travels back in time to the Warring States period of ancient China. He is involved in a number of important historical events that leads to the first unification of China under the Qin Dynasty. The series' first original broadcast ran from 15 October to 7 December 2001 on the TVB Jade network in Hong Kong.

The Justice of Life

Gao Tianyuan and his wife Zhuo Feng'er live in seclusion in the Tian Shan mountains due to his father's dismissal from officialdom. They go down the mountain to reunite with his father but he is suddenly killed, and Feng'er defects to Tianzheng Sect's leader, Ren Wo weihuai. Devastated, Tianyuan starts a new life under a false identity until he meets Sikong Aoshi and becomes involved in the martial world again. He decides to seek revenge for his father's death and becomes an official, but his impatience leads to a dangerous mistake. Later, he discovers that the real culprit wants to rebel and dominate the martial world, and he teams up with Aoshi to eliminate the threat.

Ling-wu Chung, a senior student of the Wah Mount Sect, was not at all brilliant when he joined the Sect, but was soon taught to master the sword by a legendary swordsman Yeung. Chung’s master, Kwan, resented this and drove Chung away. In order to get hold of “Kwai Fa Bo Din”, the book on the most powerful martial art, Kwan diverts attention by secretly creating troubles everywhere. Chung, on the other hand, becomes the leader of the Hang Mount Sect by chance and falls in love with Kwan's daughter. When she betrays him, he turns to the daughter of the Devil Sect leader, and thus causes a love triangle between them.

The swordsman Xie Xiaofeng and Yan Thirteen did not taste a defeat, the two met for a decisive battle, and Thirteen went to the appointment to learn that Xiaofeng had died. However, Xiaofeng did not die, he hid in a brothel and disappeared, hoping to quit the rivers and lakes. However, his identity was finally discovered, and he was retaliated by his old lover Murong Qiudi, and his belated decisive battle with Thirteen was finally staged.
The Sword

Detectives Chung and Li suspect their superior, Siu To, of colluding with triads. Li discovers that his girlfriend was assaulted by a john associated with Siu To and seeks revenge. Later, when Siu To is implicated in a rape case, their subordinate, Ma, obtains evidence but is murdered, and witnesses are intimidated to leave the city. Chung is committed to making a big prosecution in the name of justice.

Alan and Halley are partners in a pest control company. Handsome Alan gets the girls and puffy Halley gets nothing. One night the two are injured in a car crash. Halley suffers slight injuries but Alan is dead for all purposes except his brain wave which still works actively.
Scared Stiff

Story is about a couple of girls named Ching (Lam San San) and An An (Pak Wan Yin) who have been rivals ever since they were little kids. The main gist of the story, besides trying to go one up on each other, deals with the girls’ hot pursuit of super jock, Paul (Chan Chun Kwok). Ching is the first one to gain Paul’s attention while An An is busy toying with geeky looking Michael’s (Dicky Cheung) love for her. Eventually, Paul gets tired of Ching and Michael wakes up and realizes that An An is playing him and to rub salt in their wounds, Paul decides that An An is the one for him! Next thing you, kiddy hijinks ensue as Michael and Ching feign suicide to make Paul and An An feel guilty, but when the latter believes that the suicide is for real, they too (half heartedly) decide to take their own lives. Michael and Ching must rush to save them from death, but during the whole near explosive melee, they come to the conclusion that they were made for each other.

The Good, the Bad and the Beauties

Inside a café, on Christmas Eve. Chim Kei meets an enigmatic woman named Mimi Wong who introduces herself as the daughter of an upper-crust family. But the infatuated writer is struck by a spasm of sorrow when he later sees Mimi make her appearance as a taxi-dancer at a party. The lovers are reconciled by the story of her plight told by her sister Annie. However, Mimi goes missing on the engagement day. By a stroke of luck, Chim runs into the elusive woman again and finds out how she was forced into prostitution by her drug-addict husband, his childhood best friend and benefactor Chan Hung-kit. Chim leaves dejectedly, and has since been idling his days away. The frail Mimi confesses her love for Chim on her deathbed, and from not far away, Chan has ended his own life.
