The understanding Edith Mars encourages Françoise's budding love affair with an embassy attaché. Edith is the mistress of the Minister of Justice, and the Marinier parents arrive believing it's their daughter they're interviewing. While Mme Marinier puts up with it, her husband is scandalized.
