SOKO Leipzig is a German police procedural television programme, a spin-off of the earlier German police programme SOKO 5113. It was first broadcast on 31 January 2001, on German television channel ZDF. On 12 November 2008, the first part of a two-part crossover between SOKO Leipzig and British police procedural The Bill was aired, with the same version being shown on both ZDF and British television channel ITV1.

Cologne/Bonn Airport: Detective Inspector Mark Kleinert transfers the young Turkish man Baran Sahin, who has been arrested for illegal possession of weapons, to Istanbul. Seemingly a routine operation - until Kleinert receives a call from his lover Carla Paditz, urging him to meet her in Istanbul. When Kleinert arrives at the hotel, Carla is already dead. Mark Kleinert does not realize that Jo Weiß, an undercover BKA officer, is also at the hotel at the same time and is watching him. The fact that there is an even bigger crime behind the murder of the woman on the Bosporus becomes clear after the murder of the imprisoned Baran Sahin. "Anyway: the art, the art" follows renowned director Stan's theatre group, who are putting together a play uncovering the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry. Stan hires a psychotherapist Dr Franz. She is supposed to support Stan's actors and ensure that the production runs smoothly. Stan notices that she gets the team and the actors hooked on the drug Zyprecs in an effort to delude them into painting the pharmaceutical industry in a good light. The actors gradually begin to suffer a nervous breakdown from the side effects of the medication, but the premiere is getting closer and closer. As a medical consultant, Dr Franz intervenes ever more deeply in the production process and artistic work.

To take care of his father’s estate, Ulrich Meinert has to go to a trailer park where his father used to live. He finds himself in a camping colony in eastern Germany which stirs up mixed feelings. Although he felt a lot of resentment towards his father, days go by without him taking care of any unsettled business. Instead, he starts to get involved with Anja, takes on one of his father’s old friends and settles into his father’s trailer. Against his own wishes, he starts to fill the void his father left behind ...
