A film-report about one day of work of a television film crew, "making" city news. On this day, student Pasha comes to the group for an internship. One day of practical work was enough for the young man to understand the difference between his romantic ideas about journalistic work and the harsh and ruthless reality.

Events of the film take place in both hemispheres. Presidents of countries, bosses of drug cartels, special agents and powerful secret service agencies from all around the world are the first hand participants of its events. The film begins with an account of a shocking yet quite ordinary skirmish - an average drug kin pin is beating one of his assistants with a golf club with a purpose of educating him, because the assistant's cell phone was quite unlawfully confiscated by an overly diligent secret service agent. The mutilated gangster understands the incommensurability of his guilt and the level of his fault, and becomes the first character who asks the question: What do we know about the world we live in?

About the events of the final stage of the Second World War — the defeat by Soviet and Mongolian troops of the selected Kwantung army. Bacteriological weapons were created in the laboratory of Japanese General Ishii Shiro. Experiments were conducted on prisoners of war and political prisoners. Epidemiologist Dmitry Sokolov was assigned to solve the mystery of this laboratory. At the cost of his own life, he completed the task. The march of Soviet and Mongolian formations through the Gobi sands and the Khingan spurs was not only a brilliant military operation, but also a warning of the use of bacteriological weapons by Japan.

Retired General Pelevin has nothing left but a small piece of ancestral land, granted to his forefathers by the royal family long ago. But now even this last possession is under threat — targeted for the construction of an ultra-modern shopping center. Mafia networks, in collusion with a corrupt local prefect, trick the general into going on an overseas tourist trip, and in his absence, they move a city landfill onto his property.

Young Sasha is brought into a state-run children's home because his mother died early and his father spends most of his life in prison. The conditions are like in a penal institution. Sasha tries several times to escape and to search for his father.
