The Russian Civil War is over and the White Guard are all dead or abroad. Some of the exiled nobles are attempting to crown a new Tsar/Emperor abroad, and a couple of impostors are vying for the position. At the same time, some of the Elusive Avengers' old foes are trying to return to Russia, for mysterious reasons. The avengers are assigned the task of finding out what's going on. Turns out the bad guys are after the Russian Crown, which is encrusted with many diamonds and jewels. It is not clear whether the crown is only wanted for the coronation ceremony or if the bad guys are trying to sell it to the highest bidder, but either way they must be stopped. The avengers are after them. Two go to Paris to infiltrate the emigrant community, and the other two work on the Russian soil.

They are all very different, members of this "communal dormitory": the intelligent Vera and the philistine Larisa, old-age pensioners who live their lives, and the invalid Lyra, who dreams of a happy life in faraway Australia, the soulless clerk Bozhok and the young scientist Victor, forced to look for tutoring . However, their fates are inextricably linked with events and difficult collisions taking place in the country, with a sense of instability, fear, anxious expectation: something must happen.

In search of real life 15-year-old Vaska goes to the Arctic, where he gets a job on a marine rescue tug "Cola". It is not easy to build a relationship with the naive kid crew — "sea wolves". Once the team receives a task — to tow the ship "Polotsk" broken during the war from the New Earth»…

Spring, 1944. The Great Patriotic war. The German fascists are still in Sevastopol. A fierce combat is taking place there. At the same time in Yalta, which has already been freed, life goes on peacefully. People believe that the war has left them, that it is far away and no longer dangerous… But the torpedo motor-boat squadron stationed in Yalta is still having a hard time. Every day Soviet marines undertake dangerous sorties towards the German-occupied Sevastopol.

In a small seaside town lived two friends—the feisty Fedka Boiko and the thoughtful, quiet Vovka. One day, the boys called a doctor to visit a sick person and began to visit him. That is how an extraordinary person entered their lives — polar pilot Pavel Ivanovich Fedoseenko, who turned out to be a shortwave radio amateur. From him, the boys learned about distant Antarctica for the first time — and vowed to become polar explorers. In the Antarctic village of Mirny, polar explorers Vladimir Sazonov and Fyodor Boyko meet—old friends who haven't seen each other in many years, who reminisce about their childhood in a southern coastal town and the romance of long-distance radio communications on short radio waves.

It was the last days of June 1942. The fascist troops were tearing towards Sevastopol, and fighting was already going on in the city itself. Ships of the Black Sea Fleet had already broken through to Sevastopol more than once, delivering replenishment, ammunition and weapons. And now, destroyers "Daring" and "Stremitelny" receive a new order to go to Sevastopol. This way is known to sailors well enough, but the fascists repeatedly mined the only fairway to Sevastopol, and enemy aircraft constantly attacking destroyers. At the cost of losing the "Daring" sailors manage to break through to Sevastopol. But the hardest tests fall to the sailors on the way back, when overloaded with wounded "Stremitelny" returns to his native port.

Olga, who was taken to the West by Hitler's invaders, works as a switchman at a railway station. Echelons with prisoners of war - convicts - pass by her every day. Olga gets acquainted with the machinist Fyodor and with his help organizes the escape of her camp mates. But the plan fails, and the escapees are shot. Fyodor, who miraculously survived, gets to the homeland. And after the war, chance again brings him together with Olga, when the hero with severe burns after an accident falls into the hospital...

A young sailor suddenly gets involved into a spy game between KGB and CIA.

Sergey Savinov, a yesterday's schoolboy, who failed at his entry exams, is at the crossroads. Where to go to work? After working as a stand-by in a local recreation-and-entertainment park, he tries himself as a proof-reader in typography, a laboratory assistant in a plant and exhausts all his stock of photos for passes. To replenish it, he heads for a nearest photo saloon, and makes a conclusion, that his calling, which he long considered as a hobby, is photography. A work which brings so much happiness both to him and to other people.

The Soviet training sailing ship Albatross arrived in Jakarta. Having loaded with rice intended for the starving population of an African country, the ship was ready for departure. A senior officer of the West German "Norden", having learned that the "Albatross" was commanded by Captain Belous, decided to get acquainted with his old adversary (during the war they had to face each other in battle in the Baltic Sea). They were introduced to each other in the city park. The acquaintance of the two teams ended with the fact that cadet Khmara became an unwitting culprit of an "emergency incident" provoked by the German crew. Nevertheless, strictly on schedule loaded ships left the harbor. A severe storm off the southern coast of Africa seriously tested the fortitude of the two crews. The Germans were the first to enter the storm...

A participant in the war with the fascist regime, a Soviet soldier Chigorin, who bravely fought in Odessa, decides to return to the black sea city and walk through the memorable places where a lot of blood of brave defenders was shed for every inch of land. On the train, a random companion of the man becomes Katya, a charming young girl who asks Chigorin to tell about those events. Going headfirst into the memories, the former soldier begins his story, in which there is a place for selflessness, friendship, mutual assistance, love and heroism…
