Tenor Peter Hansen is about to marry for the second time. Just minutes before his wedding to dancer and singer Kitty, he's still busy rehearsing for a new revue directed by Melchior Oberländer. Kitty's uncle Meierhofer, a prompter at the theater, is urging him to leave. However, Melchior is informed that his newly hired female star, Marina Garden, has arrived. She is to sing duets with Peter during an upcoming engagement in Cologne. Marina Garden turns out to be Peter's ex-wife, who has adopted a stage name.
Carnival of Love

"The Man with the Paw" is what people call the very successful banker Wiegant, who is desperately in love with Lena Kroning, the wife of the lawyer Hugo Kroning. So as to be nearer to her, Wiegant hires her husband to be the bank's lawyer. Shortly thereafter, Wiegant is suspected of having conned the Countess Steindorff during a telephone conversation; but he never did. During the relevant period of time, he was with Lena "having tea" (uh huh), which he conceals from the lawyer-husband, so as to protect Lena.
The Man with the Paw

The actor Ralph Gregor plays "Casanova" on the stage and everyone expects, that he also lives out the role in real life. Johanna Brinkmann, known as "Joe", tries everything to make her husband jealous of Ralph. Ralph, however, is actually dating his colleague Steffie. After a fight with her, he takes off on a short trip into the countryside and there gets to know the attractive Gertrude, with whom he falls in love. In short order, he proposes to and marries her. Soon, however, Gertude gets to know Steffie and Joe, who appear to know Ralph much better than they do, and Gertrude loses it.

During the Napoleonic occupation of the German states in 1812, a tailor by the name of Anton Wibbel is sentenced to sit in jail for insulting the Emperor. The tailor manages to get out of this by paying off a friend to go to prison in his place. But then, the "phony" prisoner suddenly dies in his cell and everyone now thinks Wibbel is dead.
