Česko hledá SuperStar is the Czech version of Idol series. It is broadcast on Czech TV Nova, first series in spring 2004, the second a year later, the third series in autumn 2006. The show was very popular in 2004, with an audience of more than 3.5 million people; other media attention was also huge. The further series' rating was rather lower. In 2008, the program was superseded by the X Factor. However, Czech broadcaster TV Nova and broadcaster of Slovak version of Idol TV Markíza confirmed that both versions will be joined into one federal. The latest version is called Česko Slovenská Superstar, which started in September 2009.

Linda and Vanda, two good-looking women in their thirties, are inseparable friends and co-owners of a small bookstore in the city center. Linda is divorced, educated and practical, has a little daughter and a sense of responsibility. Vanda, on the contrary, is single and free, attracting men as a magnet, but none of them is able to keep up with her spontaneity. Edo, shy, sensitive, and introverted gay working with them in the bookstore, longs for love for ages too. A celebration of Czech music. This is a concert featuring the biggest names on the domestic pop scene. Dozens of singers paid tribute to Karel Gott, a musical legend loved not only in our country. You will hear many of his beautiful and famous songs, including hits such as "Lady Carneval," "Jdi za štěstím," "Trezor," "Co sudičky přály nám," and "Srdce nehasnou." All performed by Lucie Bílá, Marek Ztracený, Monika Absolonová, Ondřej Brzobohatý, Michal David, Václav Noid Bárta, Charlotta Ella Gottová, Richard Krajčo, Jiří Suchý, Hana Zagorová, and many others. Big Brother was a reality TV series shown in the Czech Republic, broadcast by TV Nova. It is also known as Velký Bratr. The Czech version is based on the popular Dutch Big Brother international television series produced by Endemol where a number of contestants, live in an isolated house for a certain period of time. At all times, housemates are under the control of Big Brother, a rule-enforcing authority figure who monitors the behaviour of the housemates, sets tasks and punishments, and provides the only link to the outside world for the contestants. The premiere saw thirteen housemates originally enter the house, with four additional people entering at various point during the programme. The show caused controversity when contestant Filip Trojovský was recognized as gay porn star Tommy Hansen. Also a commercial model, Trjovský starred in a TV spot for a German milk-company prior to entering the house. A German tabloid revealed the scandal, causing the spot to be taken off air. When his past became known, Trojovský became the first person to be evicted, and as a result, the ratings quickly fell. He was quickly reinstated as a housemate a few weeks later. In the end, Trojovský, who started a heterosexual relationship in the house, finished in third place.
