Two dubious characters disguise themselves as Holmes and Watson to gain attention and end up chasing counterfeiters and stolen stamps.

Dr. Mabuse and his organization of criminals are in the process of completing their latest scheme, a theft of information that will allow Mabuse to make huge profits on the stock exchange. Afterwards, Mabuse disguises himself and attends the Folies Bergères show, where Cara Carozza, the main attraction of the show, passes him information on Mabuse's next intended victim, the young millionaire Edgar Hull. Mabuse then uses psychic manipulation to lure Hull into a card game where he loses heavily. When Police Commissioner von Wenk begins an investigation of this mysterious crime spree, he has little to go on, and he needs to find someone who can help him.

The story is one of the classic operetta stories with a young princess destined to marry a king whom her mother tries to enforce while the young woman tries to escape her fate.

Sir Robert Chiltern is a successful Government minister, well-off and with a loving wife. All this is threatened when Mrs Cheveley appears in London with damning evidence of a past misdeed. Nora, the wife of the architect Heinz Ottendorf, feels neglected by her husband. He is getting more and more engrossed in his work, but Nora, apparently a stranger to hard work, suspects that the real reason for her husband's diverted attention must naturally be another woman. Robert, the cousin of Nora's friend Marianne, has long been in love with Nora and sees an opportunity to win her hand. Heinz, for all his distractions in his work and the phantom lover he doesn't have, isn't quite ready to let Nora go. While he may be married to his work, his work is a fickle mistress: he makes a career error and this leads to near financial ruin. He begs Nora to be patient with him. Marianne, who for her part is in love with Heinz, spins a web of deceit and intrigue, which leads to Robert taking a potshot at Heinz and then eventually causing Robert to kill himself.

In an imaginary Scandinavian country, an ambitious radical buys an indebted estate in order to become a member of parliament as a local resident, which he ultimately succeeds in doing. Salvation in the party turmoil comes in the form of a military dictatorship under the determined Governor General Werkonen. The new member of parliament arranges for an assassination attempt on the general. However, the general is only slightly injured in the attack. The hired assassin now feels betrayed by his client and takes revenge by murdering him...

Women are being sent to an all male settlement. The marriages are planned in advance, but not everything goes according to plan.

Lufthansa captain Hans Droste is friends with English pilot William Crossley, who saved his life during the war. Having just landed in Berlin, Hans receives a telegram from his friend urgently asking him to fly to London and check on his dying uncle, Sir Reginald Crossley. Sir Reginald has only one wish: he wants to right a past wrong and asks Hans to find a girl to whom he wants to bequeath a third of his fortune.

Gunther and Elizabeth have felt bonded to each other since their childhood. When Gunther finishes up his engineer studies, he finds a position at a large concern, which is, however, located in another city. Elizabeth lets him withdraw, although she is pregnant; she trusts him. With the passing of time, his love for her recedes ever further into the background; especially as he’s getting closer and closer to Gina, the daughter of the boss.

A Harry Piel adventure in the circus milieu: the famous artist Harry trains with the young Hella Stoll, whom he has been raising after the accidental death of her parents. In the interim, now grown up Hella has secretly fallen in love with Harry, but, for the moment, he only has eyes for the seductive Vera Leander. Only a serious accident, which has almost cost Harry his life, brings him back to his senses. Unhappy Hella, however, has already left the circus. Searching for her, Harry has to battle a wild elephant and bring a criminal to justice. But finally, he finds Hella and can admit to his love for her.

A renowned actress rescues a small theater, which is on the verge of bankruptcy.
