Biography
Baltazar Polío (1949-1989) was a Salvadoran filmmaker who directed three experimental short films in the 1970s. He is one of few pioneering figures in 20th-century Salvadoran cinema. Due to the escalation of the Salvadoran Civil War, Polío immigrated to Miami in 1980, where he worked in audiovisual advertising until his death at age 39.
