Leyla, a beautiful and feisty middle-aged woman, lives with her mother, whose nagging has become everyday background music. The two women fight shamelessly and cruelly, and in protest against her mother Leyla makes choices that even she herself finds a bit startling. Ahmet is a taxi driver, years younger than Leyla and confused after his father’s death. He still has to report his every step to his mother and obey his uncle who is the head of the family.

Suna, fifty year old, a poor woman with no income, finds a place to stay by marrying an old man. Suna hates making love with her husband. Her restless heart won't give her or anyone close to him peace. She gets depressed. She drinks alcohol secretly. She meets someone and has bad experiences in there.

Nesrin and Leyla are twins who love the same man. But the two sisters are complete opposites. Leyla is introverted, serious, and keeps her feelings to herself. Nesrin, on the other hand, is the exact opposite; she is outgoing, lively, and wears her heart on her sleeve.
