Dirt-poor painter But Ka-sing lives under the same roof with Tang Chan-sin and Lee Tai-hak. Cheung framed Chan For. Chan orders his wife not to tell this to their children, Ah Lan and Hung. His wife passes away. Ah Lan and Chung-man visit him in jail, and hold their wedding ceremony in front of him. He looks forward to the days when he returns.

Celebrity Sadora is seriously wounded in an air crash. Police commissioner Suen and subordinate Ko Cheung find out Sadora was under duress from the Black Dragon Gang to collude with the criminals who had held his daughter hostage. When Ko, assuming Sadora's identity to safeguard his life, is abducted by the gang, Suen turns to 'Black Musketeer' Muk Lan-fa. By blatantly refusing to cooperate with the authorities, Muk escapes the surveillance of both the police and the gang. Acting alone, she scouts the location of the lair but ends up being imprisoned in the same cell with Ko. The captives use every trick in the book to escape. An undaunted Muk returns to infiltrate the den, while her sister Sau-chen, Suen and Ko are lying in wait. The hostages are released and the gang wiped out in a battle fiercely fought. Banker Fung Yan-tsang is a seasoned criminal in fraudulent activities. The righteous cat burglar Ham Siu-fo has issued a deadline for Fung to return the scammed money. Crossing boundaries of class and wealth, the servant Chu and Katherine become man and wife. A happy Ham leaves, continuing to devote her life to the causes of social justice.
Lee Jwo Horng is fresh out of jail after doing time for 15 years. By then his fiancée Betty has already become the mistress of triad boss One-Eye Jack. Finally, she hatches a plot and makes the man agree to her marrying his son ; a sly fortune-teller ; a lively gym, a rich widow quarrels with the trainer of a gymnasium because his dog has bitten her cat ; and an opera school, a woman signs, leaning on the balcony, and a man tries to strangle her. In fact they are rehearsing an opera…… One evening, Wah is on the night shift, and Yuen watches the opera troupe rehearse to the end. Under the influence of drugs, Yu mistakenly believes that a divorced man has murdered a taxi dancer. He alerts the police, but the whole thing is nothing more than a misunderstanding.

Guerrilla member Ting Siu-yuen works as a playwright and Lee, the leader of an opera troupe. They conceal their identities in the troupe in order to gather military intelligence. Yuen gradually falls in love with the lead actress Mui Law-heung. Ting is unsettled to learn that County Chief Fong covets Mui. He sneaks into Fong's residence and is astounded by the sight of his old lover Pak Kuen, now Fong's wife. Fong colludes with the military chief in conducting vicious schemes. With Kuen's help, Yuen is able to get the intelligence. But as Heung is not an insider, she reports to the Governor about the illicit relationship between Yuen and Kuen. Kuen backs Yuen to eliminate the conspirators and bring about the union of Yuen and Heung.
Tang Wan-tung, the son of a Southeast Asian Sultan is a student in Hong Kong. Only Uncle Mui, his guardian, knows his identity. Tang is known as "student prince". He organises an embassy variety show. Tang invites Lai Tsi-king, who has a lovely voice, to perform in it, but it ruins her chance to study music abroad. Lai’s parents want her to marry Tung Fook-si, the son of a merchant. Lai asks Tang to act for her parents, like a prince courting her. Her parents are convinced, but Tung is not fooled. Tang smuggles Lai out to perform in the embassy. Lai's performance earns her a chance to study overseas, but her parents will not support her. Tang borrows money from his father, but is refused. He pawns his father’s ring to help Lai pay the tuition. Tung takes his father's ring and sells it. Tung's father alerts the police. The rings turn out to be a pair. The police think Tang stole the diamond ring, but Mui tells the truth. Tung is arrested and Tang and Lai have a happy ending.
Working as a telephone operator on the nightshift, David Lau received some calls from a woman for a David and agrees to a blind date. Wearing a violet on his lapel, David mistakes someone else for his date. Jennie Lee, a stranger, comes calling at the hotel, addressing a bewildered David with an intimacy that is familiar and awkward. Mok Yu-fuk, the self-proclaimed Sherlock Holmes, follows Jennie but gets robbed. Lau received an invitation to Jennie's birthday party. The guests acting strange at the party. Five years ago, when Jennie was having a heart-to-heart talk with her fiance David Wong on the beach, her neglected brother ran off to the sea and drowned himself. Suffering from a nervous breakdown ever since, Jennie was devasted by the departure of her fiance to America. The hopes Jennie's parents are pinning on the new David to boost their daughter's recovery are merely wishes.
During World War II, spy Wu Lai-sheung is instructed by her superior Fan Yeung-shan to murder spy number 13 Cheung Chi-ping. While Wu establishes a relationship with Sakei, the assistant general of the Japanese army, she also gets acquainted with Cheung. Cheung and Wu fall in love. Wu recommends Cheung to become Sakei's driver. Cheung pretends to court the Japanese spy Siu-kuen, but Siu-kuen arranges to kill the spies contacting with him. Cheung has seen through Kuen's identity for long. When Kuen is going to kill Wu, Cheung kills Kuen, Fan compels Wu to kill Cheung. Wu follows the instruction to murder Cheung. After the murder, Wu disappears. After the war, Fan discovers Wu ends up in asylum. When he visits Wu, he tells her of Cheung's innocence. This breaks Wu's heart. Cheung turns out to have seen through Wu's identity for a long time and pretended to have been killed to cover up his identity and facilitate his work. With the truth known and the war ended, Cheung and Wu married.
Mona Lam, who works for a swindling syndicate under duress, scours a nightclub for her new prey and finds the rich heir Cheng Siu-chuen. Struggling to find true bliss, the lovers gain the blessing of Lam's second uncle. On the eve of Cheng's father's birthday banquet, Lam is pressured to strike again under the watchful eye of Lucy sent by the man who's pulling the strings on the marionette behind the scenes who has threatened to kill Cheng. The quick-witted woman aborts the operation, claiming to have spotted her previous victims from amongst the guests. Her confession gains Cheng's understanding, but not his father's. The ringleader brings the liaison to an end by blackmailing the father and putting Lam under house arrest. Helping the girl flee, Second Uncle is killed in the commotion. The police act on the father's tip-off and bust the gang, clearing the way for the lovers to tie the knot.

Bing-chiu, who has been chasing after Fan since college, runs into Fai and Kum. He tells Fan about it. Fan goes to Kum to ask her not to destroy her family. Kum is hurt but still does tell her the truth. She decides to returns to Singapore. She goes to Fan's house to see her once more. Fan is having her birthday party. She insults Kum and throws a glass of wine in her face. Fai cannot stand it anymore and tells his wife who Kum really is. Fan feels guilty. All the others are moved by what Kum has suffered and they start to accept her.

Enlisted as his trusted aide, To the undercover officer carefully cloaks her identity to conduct a criminal investigation but has to stop in the light of Pang’s growing suspicion. The raid led by Detective Chan is successfully foiled by the sly gangster, who unmasks the spy and holds her captive together with Chan. Fung frees the captives before he joins Pang for his transactions by the sea. Pointing a pistol at the gangster, Fung identifies himself as the leader of the Interpol anti-drugs squad as the gang members are handcuffed and led away by To and her team.
