Lee Kap-lan, whose parents are slaughtered by the underling of the Qing court, Yan Sheung-kong, is rescued from the carnage by Leopard-faced Magic Nun. 'Ghostly Mother Blue Flower' Chiu Choi-wan has abducted a group of virgin boys and girls for the nourishment of her mind and soul. Alarmed by the abduction, Yiu But-fan, Kau Suet-mui and Hung Tin-bo make a night raid on the Hanshan Temple to release the children and set a torch to the bandit lair. Fuming over the arson, Chiu casts a spell on Kau, who kills the father of Chuk Yuk-heung in her cross-dressing persona as Yiu. Confronted by the angry Chuk clansmen at the Chuk Fortress, Yiu tries futilely to defend his innocence. Believing that Chiu has masterminded the framed murder, the fugitive infiltrates the White-bone Yinyang Cave where he finds himself attacked by Kau and Chiu. Demon-vanquishing Magic Monk, Chuk and Hung helped Yiu wrestle Chiu, who fled. Kau is nursed back to health by the monk and joins the fellowship in their quest to annihilate the demon. With all her venomous needles forfeited to the monk, Chiu gets her comeuppance, slain by Chuk's flying dagger.
Red Kid abducts Monk Tripitaka to turn his flesh into a feast to treat his mother Princess Iron Fan. Monkey King is subdued. Red Kid is taken as a disciple of the Goddess of Mercy. As Monk Tripitaka and his disciples reach the Flaming Mountain, they are unable to pass through it. The monk sends Monkey to borrow the princess's magic fan to disperse the fire. But the Princess still bears a grudge over her son’s destiny, wielding her fan to slap Monkey away. Monkey transforms into a bug, landing in her tea and hitting her stomach. In pain, the Princess answers his request, but she lends him a fake fan. With his request turned down by Ox King, Monkey disguises as Ox to beguile the wife and get the fan. Ox King transforms into Pigsy to snatch back the fan. Taoist God Pagoda arrives to subdue Ox in the company of Red Kid. Ox finally relents and yields the fan, which extinguishes the flames and sees the monk and his disciples safely off to a new phase of their journey.
An adaptation of Tong Tik-sang's now-legendary Cantonese Opera piece, the film features divas Yam Kim-fai and Pak Suet-sin (left with Yam), who play the story's lead lovers, and Lan Chi Pak, the sinister official who tries to break up the relationship. Leung Sing-po plays the pair's friend as well as the mysterious 'man in yellow' who exposes plans to separate the couple.

Kau's fellow disciples Hung Tin-bo and Chuk Yuk-heung follow the orders of their master to roam the martial world and tumble into a bandit lair. Extricated from danger by the Taoist, the duo join hands with the passer-by Yiu to thwart Lai's assault on Kau by sorcery, again aided by the Taoist. Yiu, Kau and her peers head back to the Kau Fortress where a martial contest is being held to select a prospective groom for the daughter. Kau overwhelms Lai in the ring but concedes defeat to Chiu.
Lung Wai Lan, the third princess of the Dragon King, incarnates as a human and falls in love with the bodyguard Lee Kim Wan at first sight. However, Lee falls in love with his cousin Yip So Sam and becomes privately engaged for life. Lung tricked Lee to marry her, but she misunderstood that Lee had abandoned her love and complained to the King of Hell. To avenge his son's death, the Imperial Tutor tricks the couple into joining force in overthrowing the emperor and plans to accuse them of treason. Sit, who turns out to be the emperor's long-lost daughter, follows Lee to the palace for investigation. In the film, Tang Bik-wan put on various guises in her character, e.g. dressing as an ugly and Zhongshan dialect-speaking woman when she weds, disguising as a man while investigating. She proved herself a well-rounded diva with her marvellous singing, switching between different dialects and operatic styles. The scenes with Mak Bing-wing also show great chemistry, as the duo evolve from quarrelsome lovers to husband and wife.
Iron-Beaked Hen and Fatso Bo on their way to the city to help a relative out of some trouble, they run into a band of robbers. They stop over an allegedly haunted house where they save the lovers To Lok-yin and Yu Mei-yung from their attemped suicide. Hen learn their story and decide to help them out. Yin comes from a rich family, he lost his father when he was very young and was brought up by his uncle. Now that he is old enough to claim his inheritance, the guardian, his uncle, in order to keep the fortune under control, forces him to marry a girl of his choosing. The couple cannot face separation and resolve to end their lives together.
