Daphne Manousou

May 1895. Our story begins when the family of George Pavlides engages their 12-year-old son, Miltos, with the 9-year-old daughter of Michalis Nikolaidis, Ifigenia. The attacks of fanatical Turks will force the two families to flee their homeland. The two youngsters will meet again in Istanbul 11 years later. Unaware of the family relationship that binds them, they instantly fall in love. The two lovers try to live their love, while being dragged by the whirlwind of historical events of the time.

Konstadinos Markoulakis plays a young man, who is happily married and waiting for his first child. However, one night is enough to destroy his life, when some news makes him crazy with jealousy and everything falls apart.

Niki is a resistance fighter living in a nightmarish dictatorship in Athens, 1972, and Lefteris is her son, who will be forced sooner or later to cut the thread that binds them together.

Giannis and Paris celebrate the Day of the Dead, also their anniversary, at their Latin American café-teatral. A crossroad where beloved people meet, lonely next door people, strange travellers. Their stories are intertwined, the past meets the present, music and dancing transform reality. As the night falls and the celebration reaches its ecstatic peak, the café becomes a small Arc, travelling beyond space and time, filled with memories, wishes, and revelations. 50 actors, musicians and dancers take part in the film.

The Long Island is the place of our self-exile. The Nightmare is our Father. Speaking and Hearing is the Nightmare’s gift to all of us. Silence is our gift to him.
