The story presents the adventures of a group of Cypriot students who are in Athens and the corresponding moments that their families spend in Cyprus. This apartment building is mainly inhabited by Cypriots, who for some reason, whether by their will or against it, stay in Athens. They all have strong ties and relationships with Cyprus and retain all the elements, positive and negative, of Cypriots. They try to survive in the madness of Athens, without losing their identity and face life and situations in their own way. The protagonists are everyday, ordinary and recognizable characters and their problems, concepts, joys and sorrows are known and common to all of us.

Agamemnon Anafentos and Achilles Strakkas are two 55-year-olds, former close friends and now enemies, after Agamemnon, under pressure from his parents, married Achilles' daughter, Despoina. They are both owners of two large construction companies, which compete in general but especially for a large public contract, which they fight tooth and nail to win. However, fate, which usually acts independently of people's will, will involve them in major and comical adventures, starring not only themselves but also their children: Anna and Thanasis, Achilles' children, and Themis and Andria, Agamemnon's children. The two daughters feel deceived by a young, handsome actor, who is dating both of them at the same time, and in their attempt to take revenge on him, they will get involved in new romantic adventures, with their two sons as co-stars and with consequences that could bring their fathers to the brink of a stroke.

English satellites who conduct research from space discover large oil deposit in the area of tho Old Mines in Cyprus. A big part of the area belongs to C... (he has bought it from his Turkish Cypriot colleague) who has retired there with his wife. The outbreak of a big economic crisis leads the two sons of the family to bankruptcy forcing them to move their families to the house. This whole situation is made worse when the Cyprus government keeps asking to buy the house, and our protagonist character stubbornly refuses. Moreover two English agents and the Turkish Cypriot heir, camp outside the house. The house is in a state of internal and external siege.

A Greek journalist, Thomas Giannidis, learns that there will be an assassination attempt against Archbishop Makarios on July 15, 1974. After making several unsuccessful attempts to publish the information in the newspaper where he works, he decides to go to Cyprus. There he meets a Cypriot girl, Mary, whose brother serves in Makarios' presidential guard, and they put him in touch with Makarios himself. Makarios assures him that there have been many attempts in the past and is not impressed by his information. After an attempt to kill the journalist, the presidential guard decides to find evidence in the illegal organization's hideout. Then the coup takes place on the 15th and the Turkish invasion on July 20, 1974.
