To escape a secure but stifling life with her workaholic husband Sudhir, bored housewife Simran begins an affair with Sunny, an ex-boyfriend from her college days. However, when Sudhir grows suspicious and hires a private detective, the infidelity soon comes to light.

This movie revolves around an extramarital affair between a young, hot widow, Binodini, and Mahendra. Mahendra's beautiful wife Ashalata is a good friend of Binodini. For her feelings of love and affection, Binodini comes to stay with Mahendra's family. Behari, Mahendra's best childhood friend also gets mentally involves with Binodini.

Based on the 'Arabian Nights', this film tells of the Baghdadi woodcutter Alibaba (M. Bose) and his magic 'Open Sesame' formula; of the hero's jealous brother Kasim and the slave girl Marjina (S. Bose). The film adapts the 1897 play, giving it a Hollywood-derived exotic flavour. An improvised 'modern' dance is inserted. The slow, mannered acting with the frontally framed tableau shots are enlivened by the dance scenes, especially the Marjina-Abdallah sequence.
