Fifteen year ago, Carlos went to the cinema to meet Júlia, his university colleague with whom he was in love. She never showed up. Carlos was left waiting in the lobby alone. While he waits, something happens which will change his life. A scene, an encounter, an unfinished sentence... Something insignificant, but which will determine the character's life. Fifteen years later, we follow three completely different versions of Carlos's life. An accident involving a flying manhole cover leads to a chance meeting between two childhood friends: a widow and the owner of a beauty parlor. Thus begins an entertaining game of seduction that brings memories and hidden desires to the surface - furtive passions that end up threatening the hairdresser's de facto marriage.

A painter is found dead with a gun in his hand, in his shabby studio in Lapa, a bohemian district in Rio de Janeiro. A brief note is published on a newspaper and, from then on, he becomes a national sensation.

When Abdelsellem gets out of prison, his friend Nourredine is waiting for him. They spend the night celebrating their freedom and reencounter in the streets of Tangiers. During their wanderings, they meet up with Marcela, a Brazilian woman of extreme and suicidal tendencies, who draws them inexorably down into her madness. The three characters plunge into the narrow city streets meeting glue-sniffers, hash-smokers, illegal immigrants, and letting themselves be dragged down into what seems like hell.

Adapted from a short story by Augusta Faro, the movie accompanies two young girls who become obsessed with the never-present husband of the new seamstress in town.
