Biography
Born in Bratislava and raised in Canada, Ingrid formed pUNK Films in 2003 with a ‘nothing is impossible’ manifesto. Since 2008, Ingrid has written/directed 5 features (Only, Modra, i am a good person/i am a bad person, The Animal Project, He Hated Pigeons) all of which have premiered at international festivals including: TIFF, Rotterdam, Slamdance, Whistler, Rome, OUTFest, FEMCine and MoMA, garnering awards and distribution worldwide. In 2014, Ingrid initiated the pUNK Films FEMMES LAB to foster feature films written and directed by Canadian women, sponsored by Academy Award winning actor Melissa Leo. Currently, Ingrid is a part-time member of the Film Studies Faculty at York University, Screenwriter-in- Residence at the University of Toronto, and Film Mentor at the Canadian Film Centre. Recently she completed her 6th feature PORCUPINE LAKE, produced with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada and Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund with distribution in Canada by FILMS WE LIKE and world sales by OUTPLAY FILMS.
Known For

Nikita is a drug-addicted juvenile delinquent who was accused of killing a police officer in cold blood during an attempted robbery of a pharmacy. She is later arrested and sentenced to death by lethal injection, upon which she was secretly drugged by the government, faking her death. Nikita is then "recruited" by a secret government organization and transformed into a highly skilled assassin who cannot be traced.

Airwaves is a Canadian television dramedy which aired on CBC from 1986 to 1987. The Toronto-filmed show starred Roberta Maxwell as Jean Lipton, a radio talk show host and widowed mother, who lived with her daughter Zoe, played by Ingrid Veninger, and her father Bob, played by Roland Hewgill. Maxwell has indicated that Canadian journalist-activist June Callwood was a basis for her portrayal of Jean. The show's cast also included Taborah Johnson, Alec Willows and Kimble Hall. Writers for the series included Judith Thompson, John Frizzell, Susan Martin, Rob Forsythe and Paul Gross. The series was repeated on Vision TV from 1989 to 1991.
