Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

The story takes place in one of the Siberian timber enterprises, where investigator Prokhorov from Moscow arrives to look into the murder of a young worker—tractor driver Evgeny Stoeletov.

The film comprises three cinematic novellas: (1) “And They Arrived at the Peasant’s Hut… or the Adventures of Writer Senya in Search of the Hidden Word,” in which writer Senya draws inspiration for his rural novels from his housekeeper Yermolayevna’s tales; (2) “The Song, or How the Great Louarsab Organized a Choir,” where a city visitor attempts to form a choir of centenarian elders in a Georgian mountain village; (3) “What Is Our Life?! or What Is Our Life?!”—during a musical reenactment of pre-Revolutionary France, a drunken actor’s tardiness forces King Louis XIV (also the theater committee chairman) and the cast to improvise the play’s ending.

In November, 1942, near the Volga, Stanlingrad is under siege of Commander Friederich Paulus and his 330,000 men. The Russian high command unleashes an operation to protect the Mishkova River to avoid that about four hundred tanks join Paulus' army. The Soviet artillery soldiers protect their position with their lives in a bloodshed with few survivors.

About the Karabanovs, who continued the work of educator A.S. Makarenko. The 1930s. A tragic accident cut short the life of the Karabanovs' three-year-old son. After what happened, Semyon Afanasyevich and Galina Konstantinovna came to work at an orphanage in the Ukrainian village of Chereshenki. Children from many different places gathered here. The couple devoted all their years to these children, who did not know their parents.

A group of drunken young people severely beat the couple in love. Subsequently, Aleksandr Shchetinin died in the hospital after receiving injuries from beatings. The film is dedicated to Dzerzhinsky's closest associate, the revolutionary Yakov Peters. The film tells about the events related to the uprising of the Socialist Revolutionaries in Moscow in 1918 and the activities of Boris Savinkov's underground.

A musical melodrama and semi‐biographical portrait of Alla Pugacheva, here named Anna Streltsova, who repeatedly contemplates leaving the stage until she discovers her true style and songs. Along the way she endures a difficult marriage and divorce, embraces motherhood, and ultimately experiences a profound, life-changing love.
