Biography
Mai hat eine abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung als Mediengestalterin. Ihren ersten öffentlichen Auftritt als Sängerin hatte sie im Schulmusical Der Zauberer von Oz. Zuvor begleitete sie ab und zu ihren Vater, wobei sie unter anderem im Alter von sieben Jahren mit dem Tamburin auf der Bühne stand und mit zehn Jahren die ersten Gesangsauftritte mit den Titeln Er gehört zu mir und Schuld war nur der Bossa Nova hatte. 2008 nahm sie im Alter von 15 Jahren als Teil der Tanz-Formation Getting Craz’d bei der Hip-Hop-WM in Las Vegas teil, wo sie als deutsche Meister an den Start gingen und den letzten Platz belegten. Seit 2013 ist sie mit ihrem Manager Andreas Ferber zusammen. Sie lernte den Stiefsohn von Andrea Berg bereits 2012 in einem Club in Stuttgart kennen. Anfang 2016 verlobten sich die beiden. Ihren Künstlernamen wählte sie nach ihrem Geburtsmonat.

Tigerenten Club is a German children's television programme. The programme involves a mix of games, quizzes, cartoons and outside reports from the presenters and children, with the aim to educate and entertain. It is produced by SWR in co-operation with other regional broadcasters, and is broadcast on ARD and KiKa. The logo and the name of the programme is based upon the Tigerente or 'Tigerduck', created by German cartoonist Janosch.

Part of the Idol franchise, it was created by English media mogul Simon Fuller as a spin-off from the British show Pop Idol, of which two series were broadcast between the years of 2001 and 2003. Debuting to mediocre ratings in October 2002 on the RTL network, the show has since become one of the most successful shows on German television. The program aims to discover the best singer in the country through a series of nationwide auditions in which viewer voting determines the winner. Voting is done through telephone and SMS text voting.
