In 1963, a business adventure begins in a basement in a small Danish town. Within a few years, the company has 3500 employees, many of them women who are experiencing for the first time the joys and challenges of earning their own money.

In the mid-70s, eight young female dancers struggle to make ends meet in a sexist workplace. However, they discover strength in unity and the bravery to oppose and alter one's circumstances during a turbulent summer.

The introverted Otto is moving in with his cousin. After a night out, they end up in the clutches of a criminal culprit which sends them into a gloomy and criminal world. The boys have to fight for their lives, friendship and morality.
