In a barren land ruled by oppression and ignorance, a spirited woman driven by hope of a better life must fight against the odds. Agnes is a servant in the house of the county sheriff. There she is constantly sexually harassed by him and treated with contempt by his wife. Agnes falls in love with Natan, a self taught homoeopathic doctor. The sheriff takes revenge on Natan by making it illegal for him to practice his profession. The dramatic relationship between the three main characters ultimately leads to a fatal web of events where a love affair turns into a nightmare of brutality and destruction.

TV movie based on the first chapters of the Icelandic Brennu-Njáls saga. The first part of Njálssaga is a half-hour long drama based on a part of Brenna-Nálssaga. It tells the story of Hallgerður Langbrók having food stolen in Kirkjubær and the horse she received as a reward from Gunnar. This is followed by Gunnar's quarrel with Otkel in Kirkjubær and his advisor Skammkel. Their business ends with Gunnar killing both of them. The second part is a half-hour long documentary where scholars bring out something interesting about this part of the story.

The summer of 2004 two engineer from Seyðisfjörður found a three-blade broach and an oval broach high up in the mountains of East Fjords in Iceland. Archaeologists arrived on the scene under the direction of Sigurd Bergsteinsson. They discover remains of a Viking woman, some jewelry and over 500 pearls. Who was this woman? What was she doing in the mountains, all by herself? The finding was unique, never before have so many artifacts from a Viking woman been found in an open country. The film is produced in collaboration with the National Museum of Iceland and The Archaeological Heritage Agency of Iceland.
