In 1900s Tianjin, a shipping magnate is found mysteriously drowned and chained underwater, and police dive captain Guo Deyou becomes the prime suspect. As the victim’s son, Ding Mao, investigates, more strange drownings occur, forcing him to team up with Guo, a spirit medium, and a journalist. Their search uncovers a dark secret tied to a deadly cult from decades ago, now resurfacing to wreak havoc. Together, they must uncover the truth and stop the rising threat.
It tells the story of a secret organization of supernatural abilities called "Nanshan Hunters." It follows Nie Jiuluo and Yan Tuo, which initially their relationship starts off combative, but after several life-and-death collaborations, they gradually develop mutual trust and affection. Together, they confront the villain Di Xiao, protect love and peace, and ultimately become life partners.
The idea is to create a film at home, using the environment, the people or the animals in that space. The only outdoor areas that may be used are outdoor living spaces, such as the terrace, the garden, the balcony and the stairwell.
