Biography
Juan José Namnún Tavárez was born from Namnun Jose and Tavarez Ismaela on the 17th of February of 1979, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He studied Film at the Universidad Autonoma the Santo Domingo (UASD). He graduated cum laude on 2005, defending his thesis about "Migration and Dominican films". His first work on the film industry was as a set production assistant in the Michael Mann film "Miami Vice", after that he entered the Dominican television industry with a participation on the section : "Elemental" in the Christian tv show "Aqui Estamos", from 2006 to 2015. He also the author of two books in his native language Spanish: "El tiempo del cine" and "Exodo tras la imagen" (the second one in collaboration with Francis Adames and Karol Gonsalez. He worked also with Francis Disla, as an assistant camera in the films: "Un lio en dolares" and "Dos policias en apuros". The last one co written by him with: Francis Disla, Jalsen Santana ,Yarissa Rodriguez y Conrado Ortiz. He co wrote with the same team: El fantasma de mi novia. The short film "Seaside" directed, produced and wrote by Juan Jose was shown on the Femujer Festival 2017.
