Balbuena is a genial illegal immigrant who makes his way to New York City to take a bite out of the Big Apple. But his hopes of finding a better life soon begin to fade as Balbuena encounters one obstacle after another in the hardscrabble, uncaring metropolis.

As experienced by 9 year old Angelita, the film portrays the hardship of migration endured by her family’s move from a small town in Puerto Rico to New York City’s Lower East Side.

A documentary made by the United Methodist Church which explores the possibilities of decolonization in Puerto Rico. Interviews are done with farmers, Puerto Rican intellectuals, and different reverends from the UMC located around the island.
