Mohamed Salah Abu Saif

The film is an adaptation of a novel by Ismåeel Walieddin. The main character, Ahmad, leaves rural eastern Egypt for the city hoping to become economically self-sufficient, gets an apartment for his parents, and obtains a law degree. He and his family are refugees from a town occupied by the Israeli army, Ismaåilia. Ali, the owner of the Malatily Bathhouse, offers to let him stay there for free. Ahmad encounters several characters there, including Naåeema, a prostitute who he becomes obsessed with, and Raouf, a homosexual man.

Three women each have their own ambitions and aspirations. The first dreams of fame and fortune and meets a rich, married man she attempts to court. The second is a secretary with designs on her boss, even though he too is married. Having learned from her friends' experiences, the third takes an altogether different path.

Kamel Shehata is an accountant with simple dreams. He tries to forget his problems by resorting to drugs with his friends. Until a spirit that was watching him appeared disguised as a human to help him face life.

The story revolves around a quarrel between three young men (Abdulrahman, Adel and Kamal) who were running over a girl walking in the street and between the parents of the girl. They are fans of Upper Egypt, and Abdul Rahman and his colleague get scared. They go to ride the river bus. The driver of the bus is not able to stand, and in the river bus a group of different human models, including the young mother who screams for fear of her children, three nurses and a lawyer who tells the kidnappers every moment of the punishment of these crimes, and the old man who pretends to August and goes against one of the nurses even during the kidnapping.

The film is set in the span of eight hours in the region of downtown Cairo, exploring the variety of characters present in the busy town, and several problems they face in their daily lives, in addition to the economical crisis the whole country is facing.

A young teacher, Mohamed, rejects a student who happens to be the daughter of Awny, the Minister of Interior. As Mohamed starts working as a journalist and joins the Wafd Party, he learns that Awny has documents that condemn its leader. Mohamed tries to get the incrimating evidence.

Ahmed gets acquainted with Laila and relates to her, and she agrees to marry Omar without knowing that he is Ahmad's brother. Ahmed informs Laila of a wedding without knowing that he is Omar. Layla thinks he has given up on her and decides to marry Ahmed and Omar lives with them.

After the skilled diver Hassan manages to capture the prince and his gang members, he receives his reward in exchange for informing the police about the prince's gang. The gang members escape during their deportation. The prince burns down Hassan's house, killing his wife and son. Hassan manages to find out where the treasure is. Shams accompanies him with her brother Shukry and his foreign friend Flora, who pays the costs of searching for the treasure.

Five passengers of a sunken ship land on a secluded island, Engineer Ahmed (Hassan Youssef), famous actress Zaza (Iman), a foreign young man and wealthy merchant Haj Tolba (Anwar Ismail) and his assistant Karshah (Ibrahim Nasr). Hajj Tolba asks Ahmed to build a boat so that they can leave in exchange for giving him a large check.
