The telenovela tells the dramatic story of Dom Pedro, a powerful and authoritarian man who opposes the presence of a Gypsy circus on his lands. In a tragic incident, he kills a member of the troupe, leaving behind an inconsolable widow, Salomé. Determined to avenge her husband's death, Salomé swaps her newborn daughter for Dom Pedro's newborn son, forging a bond rooted in secrecy and intrigue.
Based on a true story, Jossie is a young Puerto Rican mother, who is a victim of her husband's aggression. She decides to divorce him and leave the circle of violence in which they live. However, her ex-husband's obsessive jealousy and his thirst for revenge will eventually destroy her.
The story develops with the character of the grandmother, who visits one of her daughters to celebrate Christmas Eve. It is precisely in that place where she sits on the couch and starts recounting stories to her granddaughters.
