From 1917 to the end of the 1980s, Soviet border guards are stationed on the territory of the USSR from the Far East to the western borders.

The hero is an ordinary farmer, Philip Safronov, whose peaceful life is aggressively interrupted when his land is appropriated by a mysterious group to exploit its oil resources.

At the southern border outpost the Soviet border guards managed to neutralize a spy from one of the Western intelligence services and discover an electronic unit recording data about secret strategic military facilities located on the territory of the USSR.
