Biography
Duane's short film 30 MEETINGS/30 DAYS premiered at the Woods Hole Film Festival in 2022 and spent a year on the festival circuit in the US, UK, and India, winning the Ophelia Audience Award at the prestigious Cleveland International Film Festival. In May of 2023 it had its public digital premiere on Omeleto. Duane's feature directing debut, SUPERPOWERLESS, premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal in July 2016. He also co-directed the documentary feature "11/8/16" which was called "the most ambitious election day documentary in history," by IndieWire. It premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival in November 2017. Previously he produced and edited Dave Boyle's & Lynn Chen's SURROGATE VALENTINE TRILOGY (SURROGATE VALENTINE, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, and I WILL MAKE YOU MINE) which premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival in 2011, 2012, and 2020, and was called "Cinema's most casual trilogy" by IndieWire. Duane also produced and edited Dave Boyle's WHITE ON RICE and BIG DREAMS LITTLE TOKYO. He also helped produce and was the production manager on Boyle's Spirit Award nominated MAN FROM RENO. He helped produce the award-winning documentary AN HONEST LIAR about magician James "The Amazing" Randi, directed by Tyler Measom and Justin Weinstein which premiered at Tribeca. Other films that he's helped produce include CONGRATULATIONS (Juan Carderelli and Eric Levy); A PICTURE OF YOU (J.P. Chan); YES, WE'RE OPEN (Richard Wong); MUST COME DOWN (Kenny Riches); LAST KIND WORDS (Kevin Barker); and CRAZY BEATS STRONG EVERY TIME (Moon Molson) which premiered at Sundance. Duane directed the short film THE LEMONADE TRADE which played at family film festivals worldwide.
