Raymond Williams

An anthology series of television plays which aired on BBC1 from October 1964 to May 1970. The plays were usually written for television, although adaptations from other sources also featured.

Documentary examining what it means to live in South Wales, made in collaboration with and focusing on the lives of the Butts family. Explores the effects of complex historical forces on industry, family, work, education and learning.

A translation to film of Raymond Williams’ 1973 book of the same title which traces images of ‘nature’ and ‘town’ through 200 years of English literature.
