After participating to a previous show where they have to bet or be challenged to any kind of competitions, the losing members of the Gaki no Tsukai are selected to spend 24 hours in a setting which they have no knowledge of the theme nor the course of the events. They are exposed to various absurd and crazy situations nonstop for 24 hours and must refrain from laughing. If they do so, hang-men appear and hit the rule breakers with a weapon (the weapon varies every year).
Natsumi is the 23 years old daughter of a master baker in Yokohama and in training with her father to become a pastry chef. She lives with her parents and younger brother in Yokohama. One day she travels to Iwate Prefecture with her boyfriend Masaki for his grandmother Katsuno's 77th birthday. While they are there, Katsuno, head okami of a famous ryokan in Morioka City, becomes ill and asks Masaki to return to run the ryokan. Natsumi returns to Yokohama and later Masaki visits, asking her to disregard their earlier plans to get married because he will return to Morioka as requested by Katsuno. However, Natsumi surprises him with a vow to become the ryokan's okami. Is Natsumi in for clear skies as suggested by the series name?

The story chronicles the life of Taira no Masakado . The story begins with Masakado′s childhood. The treasure is a mic which allows three wishes to come true. One day, Takuto Kurita (Masaya Kikawada) comes to Kagawa Prefecture to perform a concert. His late father was the CEO of a sound equipment company in Kagawa Prefecture. Midori Yamabuki meets her childhood friend Kazuyuki Ogawa (Yuta Hiraoka). He brings back memories which Midori Yamabuki wants to forget. The memory is of an audition she took in Tokyo as a child. Everybody at the audition laughed at her because she is tone deaf. Somehow, Midori Yamabuki falls in love with Takuto Kurita, but Takuto Kurita’s mother requires a condition to be met before they can become part of her family. This drives Midori Yamabuki into despair.
In a red-light district, Nemoto Norio (Shibata Kyohei) is indiscriminately soliciting passersby. "Would you mind taking part in a survey? As a thank you, I'll give you a camera. Take this voucher and come to my office at Shinjuku West Exit later." "No way," replies Yoshikawa Kumiko (Furukawa Yuko). "That would be a problem," replies Saeki Nobuko (Mori Masako). "A camera?" asks Iketani Kaori (Tanaka Yuko), suspicious. The survey is about overseas travel. The three of them gather in a room in Shinjuku. This is how they get to know each other, and they gradually become good friends. Their desire is to find a youth they can be truly proud of. The drama depicts the daily lives of three women of the marriageable age who are desperately trying to make some memories before they get married.
