A young man tries to make everybody happy including the girl he's in love with and her divorcing parents.

"У.Е." means "условная единица" in Russian or "CU" (conventional unit) in English. A conditional unit is a euphemism used in Russia to denote a monetary amount in a foreign currency (usually US dollars) or an equivalent amount of a dollar in rubles at an official or exchange rate. The retired 50-year-old FSB colonel at his own risk and continues to investigate the case, because of which he was sent to retirement, and is drawn into a swirl of events related to the leakage of Russian capital abroad and the fight against international terrorism.

1940s Arctic, a new boss arrives to build a port. They are waiting for him impatiently, they greet him with joy, but the one who arrives is not the one they were expecting. He begins his acquaintance sternly: "Less chatter, we must get down to business!" - proclaims the new government.

Based on the play of the same name by M. Saltykov-Shchedrin. A young liberal-minded official named Bobyrev arrives in St. Petersburg from the provinces. He hopes to build a career under the patronage of his former schoolmate Klaverov, who has become a general. The general gladly assigns Bobyrev to his office and is already making plans to use Bobyrev’s beautiful wife, Sofia, to wage a successful campaign against his opponents and influence the pleasure-seeking Minister Tarakanov...

The characters of the play do not know that tomorrow there will be a war, that many people have only a few days left to live. They enthusiastically fight with the teacher, fall in love, cry and laugh, have fun, fight, mischief and impudence, but they seem to be just children, although - the paradox of that time! - their souls mature and develop much faster than their bodies. And when their friend's father is arrested by slander or mistake, they are ready for the first trials, for the initial lessons of injustice and grief, mutual assistance and mutual understanding. The tragedy that happened in the classroom was a kind of test of readiness for tomorrow's sacrifices and tomorrow's exploits.
