A group of women with various criminal skills are thrown into prison during World War 2. They escape and proceed to head off to destroy a chemical lab in a well fortified valley.

Jointly and respectively directed by King Hu, Lee Hsing, and Pai Ching-Jui, three major Taiwan directors of the 1970s, this film consist of three shorts with the same cast of two actors and one actress, who through reincarnation meet in three different times.

Brigette Lin is the "Jackal", a renegade mercenary who betrayed her gang to his Nazi Commander lover and stealing a cache of gold. A year later reunited her gang led by "Cat", a golden sword costumed woman. They are trying to trace the location of the gold cache, but it seems like a small western resort has been built just where the Jackal and her lover. They confront the Jackal over her betrayal. Sun Ya-fang, a freshman from college, is wooed by her schoolmates Chen, a boastful and frivolous playboy, and Yang, an introvert, who is simple and honest. Yang's sister teaches him to adopt a more aggressive approach towards Sun. Perturbed by his advances, Sun deflects Yang's attention towards her classmate, Sung. Meanwhile, Sun's cousin, George, returns from abroad and further complicates the situation. Sun falls for George, who is more interested in Sung.

The college entrance examinations are viewed as the be all and end all for Taiwanese high school students. A top student sends shock waves through his family and friends when he decides not to take them.
