Pedro Peralta

Biography
Pedro Peralta was born in Lisbon, where he lives and works. In 2012, he directed the short film MUPEPY MUNATIM (2012), selected and distinguished in several national and international festivals. In 2016 directed the short film ASCENSION, internationally premiered at the Critics' Week of the Cannes Film Festival and selected in more than seventy festivals. Since 2013 he has worked at the film production company Terratreme Filmes, where he coordinates the distribution. He is currently working on the development of his first feature film, KA.

As he learns his mother died, a man who had left for France to find a job and a living is now returning to Portugal. We follow his wanderings, the places he forgot. We feel the stranger he has become in the eyes of the other people. Gone long ago, he didn't know then he would lose everything. He has now to grieve his own way.
Mupepy Munatim

At dawn, a group of peasants tries to rescue the body of a young man from the inside of a well. Women veil their faces in silence while men endure the situation. In the centre of it all, a mother awaits her son's body. How can life cease to be when in nature there is an enduring renewal?

Somewhere in the mountains, a man lives alone in a disappearing village. Wandering through the misty nature, interpreting among the walls of his dark houses, on the very ground with his destiny to belong to a world that has been rejected.
Outside the Oranges Are Blooming

Castuera, Spain, April 1939. During the night two Falangist Guards appear at the door of the house where Paz is taking refuge with her family. They request her presence at the police station. Paz immediately understands the fatality of this visit. With no chance to escape, she asks to breastfeed her newborn daughter one last time.
